About the opportunity
We currently have one permanent full-time opportunity available for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join DPIRD’s Finance team.
Reporting to the Manager Treasury Coordination, you’ll play a key role within DPIRD by providing strategic financial advice and oversight to support effective Treasury management, budget planning and financial decision-making.
You’ll provide high-quality, value-adding advice and feedback across the Department with respect to the WA State Government budget and mid-year review submissions and parameter adjustments. Your work will contribute directly to the integrity, transparency and effective management of DPIRD’s external budget and actuals reporting to the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF).
As part of the Treasury Coordination Team, you’ll also contribute to the consolidation of the ten entities forming part of the DPIRD reporting entity and the reconciliation of our Royalties for Regions profiles (approximately 200 projects) to the DTF Strategic Information Management System (SIMS). You will support the Finance Business partners through the input of journals into SIMS through the Budget and Mid-year review processes.
This is an opportunity to apply your financial expertise in a dynamic environment where your advice and analysis will make a real difference — including supporting DPIRD’s incident and emergency management activities when required.
It is also important to be aware that DPIRD is an emergency management department and so on occasion, all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.
The position is currently available for immediate filling, with the potential that this process may also be used to fill other same or similar fixed term or permanent vacancies that arise in DPIRD (within the locations listed in this advert) over the next 12 months.

We value diversity and understand diverse workplaces are more effective and innovative so we encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, women, youth, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. As our department is an equal opportunity employer, supported by the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA), preference may be given to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, people of diverse sexualities and youth.
