About the opportunity
We currently have one (1) permanent, full-time opportunity available for a Senior Consultant Business Improvement to join DPIRD’s Business Improvement team.
As the successful candidate you will provide strategic consultancy and advisory services to the department with a focus on developing and implementing business improvement initiatives and projects.
Reporting to the Manager Business Improvement, you will parter with business areas to identify, develop and implement business improvement initiatives and projects focusing on areas with strategic impact. You will also provide critical project and change management support for the successful implementation of business improvement projects.
It is important to be aware that DPIRD is an emergency management department and so on occasion, all employees may be required to work or travel during, or outside of, normal business hours to assist with incidents and emergencies.
The position is currently available for immediate filling, with the potential that this process may also be used to fill other same or similar fixed term or permanent vacancies that arise in DPIRD (within the locations listed in this advert) over the next 12 months.

Assessment criteria and eligibility
We are looking for someone with:
- Demonstrated leadership skills in building and nurturing collaborative relationships, fostering teamwork and engagement across teams and stakeholders.
- Considerable knowledge and experience of business improvement methodologies and change management to improve governance and reduce risk.
- Experience in data analysis and using digital tools to map business processes and develop effective solutions to complex problems.
- Demonstrated experience in project management and organisational skills and an interest in broadening their skills across the directorate’s activities.
- A strong work ethic and commitment to producing work that is methodical and detail oriented.
