Building the infrastructure that shapes Western Australia’s future.

The Office of Major Infrastructure Delivery (OMID) is responsible for planning, procurement, financing, and delivery of the State’s major infrastructure.  As the lead agency for social and non-residential infrastructure, OMID delivers high value (exceeding $100 million), highly complex or high-risk projects across the health, justice, cultural, sporting, emergency services, and primary industry sectors.

It brings together the best of program and project management, procurement, contract management, finance, commercial, stakeholder engagement, communications, sustainability, and governance to ensure Western Australia’s infrastructure is built safely, sustainably and with maximum public benefit.

OMID delivers projects that make a real difference to every Western Australian with new hospitals, sports, culture and entertainment centres, transport upgrades and training, justice and research facilities.

OMID is a part of the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI), which is responsible for coordinating the State’s transport operations, leading strategic planning and policy development, and delivering safe and sustainable transport services as part of the wider Transport Portfolio.

The Opportunity

Are you ready to help shape the way we communicate about the infrastructure projects transforming Western Australia?

We’re building a talent pool of Senior Communications Officers to support the planning, development and delivery of engaging internal and external communications supporting OMID’s portfolio of projects.

In these roles, you’ll use your agility, creativity and critical thinking to deliver clear, timely and consistent communications that build awareness, keep stakeholders informed and support broader communication objectives.

If you’re an experienced communications professional who can turn complex information into clear and engaging content, we’d love to hear from you.

We have three roles – all three roles will work across all channels. One of the roles will focus on internal communications and another will focus on digital production.

Depending on your area of expertise, you may:

  • Develop communication strategies and action plans that raise awareness of project activities, construction impacts and project benefits
  • Prepare and coordinate engaging communication materials, including project updates, internal publications, key messages, speech notes, intranet content and presentations
  • Create and coordinate digital and multimedia content, including web-ready graphics, PDF publications, imagery, video and other multimedia materials
  • Work collaboratively to ensure communications are accurate, accessible, engaging and aligned with project and organisational objectives.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships across OMID, project teams, delivery partners and relevant stakeholders to support the timely exchange of information.
  • Identify communication needs, opportunities, issues and risks, and works with relevant stakeholders to support appropriate communication responses and activities.
  • Support timely and consistent communication with stakeholders and partnering agencies.

This is an opportunity to apply your skills in a dynamic environment where your work will directly influence the success of major projects and the communities they serve. Read more on the exciting projects we’re delivering here.
