The Role
The school is seeking an experienced and highly skilled School Psychologist to join our collaborative team.
The School Psychologist will provide contemporary, evidence-informed psychological services across learning, behaviour, disability, mental health and wellbeing. Working closely with school leaders, our Learning Support Coordinators, staff, families and external agencies, they will contribute to assessment, consultation, intervention and case management, while helping to strengthen staff capability and whole-school approaches to supporting students.
The successful applicant will exercise sound professional judgement and autonomy in identifying and prioritising need. They will be able to manage multiple and competing demands, respond flexibly to emerging priorities and maintain effective follow-through across a varied caseload.
The successful applicant will ideally:
- demonstrate highly developed knowledge of contemporary, evidence-informed school psychology practice
- build positive and trusting relationships with staff, students and families, with a proven ability to work effectively with families and key stakeholders
- demonstrate strong consultation, assessment, intervention and case-management skills
- effectively prioritise need while managing multiple and competing demands
- work collaboratively to develop practical and sustainable approaches to student learning, behaviour and wellbeing
- contribute to preventative and early intervention approaches and build staff capability through consultation and professional dialogue
- communicate complex or sensitive information clearly, respectfully and professionally
- support parents through the delivery of Triple P workshops
- work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
The successful applicant will support and facilitate organisational change. They will provide psychological services to school communities affected by critical issues/incidents. They will also be responsible for maintaining records consistent with Department and Psychology Board of Australia requirements

- Demonstrated ability to implement psychology services and programs in an educational environment to maximise student learning outcomes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the implementation and evaluation of a variety of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group and system-level intervention.
- Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills.
- Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation.
