The Role
School Officers will ideally bring a proactive, adaptable and customer-focused approach to supporting the day-to-day operations of the school. Suitable applicants should display strong administrative and organisational skills, with experience providing responsive and professional support to students, staff, families and the wider school community. The role supports a broad range of school operations, which may include records and databases, enrolments, attendance and reporting, finance and procurement, school events, and the coordination of school resources and assets.
Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills are highly regarded, along with the ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement and maintain confidentiality. Suitable applicants will ideally enjoy working as part of a collaborative administration team and be open to learning new systems, processes and areas of responsibility as operational needs evolve.
In addition to financial management, School Officers have the opportunity to work across a range of portfolios to build capability, upskill and respond to the changing needs of our students. This may include overseeing the administration of out-of-hours use of school facilities, coordinating and negotiating maintenance and repairs, and maintaining key registers and security system codes. They will assist with the induction and support of administrative school support staff, by developing induction programs and materials and coordinating relief staff. This role provides an opportunity to apply existing administrative skills while developing experience across new and varied areas of school operations.
