We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Harrisdale Primary School (PS) opened its doors to students in 2016, and quickly earned a reputation for Excellence, Innovation and Success. Our school is currently one of the largest primary schools in the state. We cater for students in Kindergarten to Year 6, and our school is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. We value and celebrate our multicultural student population and we work in partnership with our families and local community to instil a sense of connection and engagement, and to develop relationships where members of our school community feel welcome, included and respected.

Our vision of ‘Every Student Successful’ recognises that all students can and should achieve personal success. Success may be in the form of academic success but of equal importance, is our school’s holistic approach to ensuring students are given opportunities to be successful creatively, physically, socially and emotionally.

Students and learning are always at the centre of decision making at Harrisdale PS. We put our students first and we are committed to all students being known, valued and cared for.

As a school, we are aware of our responsibilities in equipping our students to live and work in the 21st Century. Future focussed learning and Technologies are incorporated throughout the school’s learning programs allowing students to explore, innovate, create, collaborate, think critically and problem-solve. We are an Apple Distinguished School with a Bring your Own iPad Program in Years 3 to 6. We are a lead school in this area and have been selected as a Lead DigiTech School, a Digital Capability Alliance School, and as a Pilot AI School in the cross-sector Generative AI Project.

The Role

As one of the largest Primary Schools, Harrisdale PS operates much like a High School.  All of our School Officers need to be flexible in their ability to work across a range of tasks and duties, including but not limited to the front desk, taking enrolments and tending to students needs on a daily basis. The School Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth running of our office on a daily basis.  School officers assist with the financial operation of the school. This includes tasks such as undertaking account and GST coding, reconciling financial records and processing invoices. School Officers also assist with month-end procedures such as transporting receipts to the bank and maintaining data integrity.

In addition to financial management, the School Officer will also assist with the management of school assets and OHS. This includes overseeing the administration of out-of-hours use of school facilities, coordinating, and negotiating maintenance and repairs, and maintaining key registers and security system codes.
