We are seeking to establish a pool of School Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Yanchep Secondary College (SC) provides young people in the Yanchep area with a high quality, comprehensive education. Yanchep Secondary College opened in 2018 in a brand new purpose built school. We offer a broad, high-level curriculum encompassing academic programs and vocational courses to provide students with opportunities to pursue learning interests that inspire and challenge them.

We enrol students from year 7 to year 12. Yanchep SC contains commercial kitchen and cafe and an arts centre for visual and performing arts. The school is designed to give students access to specialist subject teaching and the best learning practices to promote success and excellence.

The Role

This pool will initially be used to fill full time positions with a strong focus on providing high-quality reception, student services and administrative support. We are seeking highly motivated, organised and customer-focused School Officers to join our Corporate Services team, who will play an important role in ensuring every interaction with the college is professional, welcoming and responsive.

Suitable applicants will ideally be confident working in a busy secondary school environment where priorities can change quickly. They should show initiative, sound judgement and the ability to remain calm, organised and courteous while managing a high volume of enquiries and competing demands.

Duties may include:

  • Responding to telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries and directing enquiries appropriately
  • Supporting student attendance processes, including late arrivals, early departures, unexplained absences and communication with parents and caregivers
  • Maintaining accurate student information, records and administrative data
  • Assisting with student enrolment and related administrative processes
  • Receiving and processing payments and undertaking relevant receipting and financial administration
  • Providing general administrative support, including correspondence, filing, data entry, document preparation and record management
  • Working collaboratively with the Manager Corporate Services (MCS), Business Support Officers (BSOs), school leadership and other members of the Corporate Services team
  • Undertaking other administrative and operational duties as required to support the effective day-to-day operation of the college.

Suitable applicants will ideally show a strong commitment to providing a high level of customer service and have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. They should be approachable, professional and able to communicate effectively and respectfully with a diverse range of students, parents and caregivers, staff and community members.

You will ideally possess sound organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a busy and sometimes challenging environment. The ability to use initiative, follow through on enquiries and work collaboratively to find solutions will be highly regarded.

Strong written communication skills and attention to detail are important, particularly when maintaining student records, preparing correspondence and communicating information to families and staff. Applicants should also demonstrate discretion and sound judgement when handling confidential or sensitive student and family information.

Suitable applicants will ideally have sound digital literacy skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel. Experience using Department of Education and school-based systems such as the Student Information System (SIS), Compass, Relationship Manager (RM) Billing, RM Finance and Reporting to Parents (RTP) will be highly desirable; however, applicants who demonstrate the capacity and willingness to quickly learn new systems are also encouraged to apply. Previous experience working within a secondary school, education setting or similarly busy customer-focused administrative environment will be highly regarded.

Above all, we are seeking applicants who will contribute positively to our team culture and demonstrate professionalism, reliability, initiative, accountability and a willingness to support others. Suitable applicants should have an understanding of the importance of creating positive experiences for every student, family, colleague and community member and ensuring people who engage with our reception feel welcomed, valued and heard.
