Bring together research, coordination and executive support in a role where your work helps keep Training Services moving.

Permanent full-time opportunity available!

About You

The Office of the General Manager sits at the centre of a busy Training Services Division. Good decisions depend on the right information being available at the right time, commitments being followed through and senior leaders having confidence that important work is progressing.

Your ability to organise, research, communicate and anticipate what needs to happen next will help the General Manager and broader leadership team operate effectively. You will work across a range of priorities and with people from across the organisation and external agencies, giving you exposure to work that reaches well beyond a typical administrative role.

You will have room to use your judgement and initiative, take ownership of pieces of work and see the practical impact of what you deliver.

In this role, you will:

  • Turn information into something useful. You will research issues, bring together information from different sources and provide clear summaries that help the General Manager understand an issue or progress a piece of work.
  • Produce high-quality written work. You will help prepare briefings, reports, submissions, correspondence, presentations and Ministerial material, often taking complex information and making it clear and concise.
  • Keep important work moving. You will coordinate actions, follow up commitments, manage competing deadlines and make sure the details do not get lost when multiple priorities are underway.
  • Coordinate meetings and events that matter. From executive briefings and workshops to forums and conferences, you will bring together the people, information and practical arrangements needed for things to run smoothly.
  • Build relationships across the organisation. You will work with senior leaders, colleagues and external stakeholders, following up actions and helping ensure commitments are delivered.
  • Take ownership of project work. You will be given pieces of work to progress with limited supervision, using your judgement to identify what needs to happen and when.
  • Provide trusted executive support. You will work with sensitive and confidential information and provide reliable support to the General Manager and Executive Directors when required.

There is also an option to accrue an additional two weeks leave each year on top of your standard four weeks annual leave.
