Position Profile: Do you have a desire to care for critically unwell and injured children in Paediatric Intensive Care (PICU) and High Dependency (HDU)? The Paediatric Critical Care (PCC) unit are looking for experienced and motivated nurses to join the team.

About the Department/Service/Directorate:
Paediatric Critical Care comprises the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and the High Dependency Unit (HDU) and is one of the specialised services at Western Australia’s only tertiary children’s hospital. The PCC unit at Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) offers a state-wide intensive care service for critically ill infants, children and young people.
Nurses in PCC are responsible for the care of sick and injured children as well as their post-surgical care. This includes complex Cardiothoracic, Ear Nose and Throat and Neurosurgery. PCC has access to the latest technology and innovation and is a Centre for Intensive Care research. PCC also forms part of the hospital’s emergency response and medical emergency team. Our PCC is a Level 3 Intensive Care Unit and offers a range of complex services including an ECMO service.

PCH is Western Australia's specialist paediatric hospital and trauma centre, with 298 beds. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre, PCH offers primary care for severe medical cases and secondary services such as inpatient, outpatient, and day-stay care. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants found suitable for this position may be considered for other ‘similar’ vacancies within CAHS and/or the wider WA public sector.
