Job Description

The role of this position is to provide the first point of contact for the Zoo business and brand. This position is a centralised point of contact for communication with the agency and assists with basic administrative tasks.

The scope of this position is to:

  • Attend to the Zoo’s customer service reception area.

  • Control the telephone system switchboard and use other communication equipment.

  • Provide office support services.

  • Perform additional customer service functions as required.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following six (6) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total.

  1. Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external clients with a strong customer focus.

  2. Working knowledge of and an ability to perform general administrative duties including the ability to plan, prioritise and coordinate these activities effectively.

  3. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively under pressure.

  4. Strong computer skills in a range of contemporary office software programs.

  5. Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  6. An understanding of occupational, health and safety, equity and diversity principles and practices.
