About the role
Every day, thousands of people rely on a bus stop to connect them with work, education, healthcare and their community. As a Project Officer, Bus Stop Infrastructure, you will help shape that journey by delivering infrastructure projects that improve accessibility, safety and customer experience across the public transport network. From upgrading boarding areas and installing shelters to coordinating roadside infrastructure works, your contribution will have a visible and lasting impact on communities throughout Western Australia.
We're looking for a proactive and solutions-focused professional with experience in the design and/or delivery of roadside infrastructure projects. You will bring a sound understanding of accessibility requirements for people with disabilities, including the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport and relevant civil construction and design standards. Working closely with contractors, local governments and internal stakeholders, you'll coordinate project delivery, develop practical infrastructure solutions and balance operational needs with community expectations. Knowledge of urban bus operations and the Road Traffic Code as it relates to public transport infrastructure will be highly regarded.
Success in this role will come from your ability to analyse complex issues, manage multiple projects and build productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. You are a confident communicator who can negotiate positive outcomes, resolve challenges collaboratively and remain focused on delivering quality results within agreed timeframes. If you're passionate about creating accessible public transport infrastructure and enjoy seeing projects progress from planning through to delivery, we'd love to hear from you.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Sound experience in the design and/or delivery of roadside infrastructure, with a strong understanding of accessibility requirements, the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport, and relevant civil construction and design standards.
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, resolve conflict, advocate for outcomes and work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Sound analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills.
- Sound ability to manage projects which have agreed timeframes and outcomes that involve a range of internal and external stakeholders.
