The State Development and Project Facilitation group leads and assists the development and expansion of the State’s resources and industry sectors, strategic industrial land investment and major infrastructure projects

We are currently seeking to fill Seven (7) Project Manager positions in the State Development and Project Facilitation Group of DEED. While the positions share the same classification and core responsibilities, each role is aligned to a different team and project stream, providing opportunities to work in a diverse range of strategic initiatives, projects and stakeholders.

As a Project Manager in the State Development and Project Facilitation Group, you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of large and complex projects that contribute to Western Australia's economic growth and development priorities.

Working in a dynamic and stakeholder-focused environment, you will provide strategic advice, manage project risks and outcomes, coordinate government approvals processes and engage with industry, government agencies and community stakeholders to facilitate projects of state significance.

You will also provide leadership and direction to project teams, build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and represent the State in discussions and negotiations with senior industry and government representatives.

Five (5) of the roles are in the State Agreements Division. These positions lead teams that are focused on administering complex resource and energy Agreements, specifically Pilbara Iron Ore projects; Liquefied Natural Gas projects; and projects statewide that are preparing for closure and/or transitioning to new authorising environments under general State law.

Two (2) of the roles are in the Industrial Land Activation Division. These positions lead complex projects and programs that support state development priorities and the activation of strategic industrial land. This includes leading teams, managing delivery and risks, and engaging with senior government and industry stakeholders to resolve issues and drive projects forward.

Key responsibilities include working with the project proponents on legislative reporting obligations, reviewing, assessing and facilitating cross-agency review of sensitive and commercial-in-confidence information and managing team members to achieve project outcomes.

Further information about the role and the expected leadership behaviours can be found in the attached Job Description Forms. Assessment of leadership behaviours may be included in the recruitment process.
