Do you want to directly influence the future of healthcare for women, babies, and families across Western Australia?

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Project Managers to help deliver the once‑in‑a‑generation New Women and Babies Hospital Project (NWBHP) for North Metropolitan Health Service. This complex program will shape the future of maternal, neonatal and women's healthcare in Western Australia through:

  • Construction of the new Women and Babies Hospital within the Fiona Stanley Hospital precinct.
  • Expansion of maternity and neonatology capacity at Osborne Park Hospital.
  • Expansion of neonatology services at Perth Children's Hospital.
  • Relocation and redesign of multiple statewide services

Vacancies currently exist in the following workstreams within the NWBHP team as follows:

Program Integration (2 FTE)

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing project-wide coordination by developing and implementing project management and integration processes to align activities, manage dependencies, track milestones, and sequence inputs from all workstreams to enable cohesive program delivery. This role will also be responsible for developing and implementing project-wide strategies to inform the transition of services, staff and patients to the new facilities, the readiness assessment process, onsite commissioning coordination, scenario testing, and patient move-day coordination.

Clinical and Clinical Support (1 FTE)

The Project Manager will be responsible for departmental service planning, operational redesign, commissioning planning and service transition for new clinical, clinical support or non-clinical departments at WBH or OPH. This role supports operational stakeholders by documenting future state operational models, coordinating workshops, tracking actions, documenting outputs, and managing dependencies. The Project Manager will be expected to manage a portfolio of departments and be the main point of contact within the project for nominated operational stakeholders.

Procurement, Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) and Supplies (1 FTE)

The Project Manager will be responsible for the identification, specification, procurement, delivery, and installation of equipment, consumables, and medication. The role will also track procurement schedules, supplier dependencies, and contract deliverables to align with commissioning and readiness timelines and will be responsible for day-to-day coordination, progress reporting, and escalation of procurement and logistics risks.

About the Role

As a Project Manager, reporting to the Project Director of the relevant workstream, you will be responsible for preparing for new and expanded hospital facilities and staff to be clinically safe, functionally ready, and fully equipped for opening day. You will be expected to:

  • Navigate complex clinical and operational environments to ensure day‑one readiness.
  • Manage competing priorities and deadlines across multiple large‑scale projects simultaneously and deliver on schedule.
  • Drive clarity and decision‑making in environments where requirements are evolving.
  • Build strong relationships and influence diverse stakeholders without direct authority.

Experience in large scale complex projects / statewide programs / reform agenda for whole of state, organisations, hospitals, or Health Service Provider/s is highly valued in this role.

The primary office location for this role is Subiaco. However, employees may be required to work across multiple sites and locations in line with project and operational needs. Role‑specific requirements or shift considerations may apply (e.g., early starts, onsite work, or attendance during testing and activation periods).
