Step into the world of Emergency Relief and Support (ERS), where your work is more than just a job.

In line with the Department of Communities (Communities) role in leading the delivery of social response and recovery, ERS plans and coordinates the provision of psychosocial and practical supports to people affected by an emergency event.

The Project Manager – Community Recovery, undertakes the strategic and operational management of one or more of the Department of Communities, community recovery projects. The role develops strategic plan and relationships that support pathways for individual, family and community wellbeing as part of recovery.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Managing project deliverables for effective assessment of needs, identification of programs and services, management of relationships, teams and project outcomes.
  • Leading, managing and mentoring multidisciplinary, inter-agency and multi-tasked project teams and promoting synergy in the achievement of project deliverables, while managing staff performance, outputs and role requirements.
  • Leading project teams in documenting, monitoring and reporting on project plans through the project life cycle and deliver on outcomes through schedules, scope, budget, time and quality.

There is currently 1 full-time fixed-term positions available from 04 January 2027 for 6 months with possibility of extension/permanency. This recruitment pool may be used to fill various fixed term or permanent, full-time and part-time positions arising within the next 12 months.
