At Eaton Community College (CC) we are working hard to become one of the leading secondary schools in the Bunbury area. We are dedicated to selecting specialist staff with strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with students, parents/guardians, colleagues and the wider school community. Eaton CC is an Independent Public School (IPS) that offers a wonderful opportunity for local students to access a high-quality secondary education close to home. Eaton is a rapidly growing suburb located less than 10kms from Bunbury.
At Eaton CC we focus on explicit instruction and targeted intervention strategies to ensure every student achieves. Our College staff have a key role in school planning processes including: the analysis of student performance data, development of performance and improvement plans and application of an evidence-based approach to student performance.
All staff are expected to adhere to the Department of Education Code of Conduct and actively participate in the school community.

The Role
Eaton CC is seeking an experienced, collaborative and relational leader to provide strategic and operational leadership of Student Behaviour and Engagement, one of three interconnected pillars within our Student Services model. Working alongside the Program Coordinators responsible for Student Learning and Student Wellbeing, the successful applicant will help ensure a coordinated, responsive and student-centered approach to supporting student engagement and success.
The successful applicant will ideally have a strong understanding of Department of Education policies and procedures relating to student behaviour, engagement, attendance and Students at Educational Risk (SAER), together with the leadership capability to translate these into consistent and effective whole-school practice. They will use student data to identify trends, coordinate targeted interventions and support proactive case management for students requiring additional support to successfully engage with school.
A key focus of the role will be strengthening a positive, consistent and educative approach to student behaviour across the College. The successful applicant will work alongside staff to build their capability to respond effectively to student behaviour, supporting approaches that maintain high expectations while strengthening relationships, student responsibility and engagement. Knowledge and experience in restorative practices, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and evidence-informed approaches to behaviour and engagement will be highly regarded.
As an approachable and visible leader, the successful applicant will provide leadership and support to staff within Student Services and work closely with Year Coordinators, teachers, school leaders, families and external agencies. They will ideally display highly developed skills in complex case management and be able to build productive relationships with students and families, particularly where attendance, behaviour or disengagement are impacting a young person’s capacity to succeed at school.
The successful applicant will contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of Eaton CC’s Student Services structures and processes, helping to build a proactive and coordinated model of support that reflects our College vision that students are Supported to learn, Empowered to achieve and Equipped to succeed.
