This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 4, 2026

Located in Hammond Park on Irvine Parade, the college opened in 2020 to Year 7 students. The college buildings include state of the art classrooms, a library, administration and extensive student services area. The college also features specialist facilities for performing and visual arts, science laboratories, food and textiles, design and technology workshops and a gymnasium. The cafeteria is the hub of the central precinct and provides indoor and outdoor seating, landscaped gardens and open spaces. Multipurpose courts and oval were also included in the first stage of the build.

The Role

In collaboration with the Principal and members of the leadership team, the Program Coordinator ideally provides educational leadership in the College and the community by developing and promoting the College vision and leading strategic directions for students with special education needs. You should  lead with evidence-based practices, build staff capacity through professional learning and coaching, and contribute to whole-school planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful applicant should promote and support inclusive practices within the college and help create an environment where all students are able to reach their potential. A key component of this role ideally is to lead special educational needs staff and develop processes to enable staff to provide exemplary service and support to students with disabilities and special educational needs.

The key responsibilities of the Program Coordinator – Learning Support ideally include:

  • Line management of Special Needs Education Assistants
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and review plans to support students’ learning needs
  • Submission of Disability Resourcing applications, Disability reviews and checklists
  • Case management of students with diagnosed conditions including diagnosis documentation, family and outside agencies liaison, and teacher communication
  • Whole school strategic planning in related areas such as transition, professional learning, parent and community engagement, development of pathway planning
  • Collaboration with relevant school leaders and staff with regards to assessment adjustments and applications
  • Maintaining and updating the National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)
  • Managing the transition process from Year 6 to Year 7 for students with identified special needs.
