  • 1x- Six (6) month fixed term, full-time position with possible extension and/or permanency

The Department of Education is seeking two dynamic and personable individuals with extensive experience in building and maintaining strategic relationships with key stakeholders to assist the divisions delivery of strategic objections and election commitments. You will be required to manage multiply priorities and adapt written and verbal communication to accommodate key stakeholder requirements.

The Role

The Principal Consultant – Projects is responsible for coordinating and delivering strategic, system-wide projects, initiatives, reform programs and State Government election commitments on behalf of the Department of Education WA.

The position requires the development and maintenance of strong relationships across the Department, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective engagement with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

A significant component of the role involves preparing and quality assuring briefing papers, ministerial correspondence, reports and presentations, while providing high-level advice to stakeholders on election commitments and operational matters.

Supporting the Manager, Strategic Projects, the Principal Consultant – Projects coordinates and delivers key election commitments, including:

  • Supporting School Canteens Program
  • Small-Scale Election Commitment Program
  • Outside School Hours Care initiatives.

The role also supports broader projects and reform programs led by the Finance and Commercial Services Division. This includes tracking progress, managing governance and reporting requirements, and providing accurate and timely advice and reports to senior management, committees and other key stakeholders.

The role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes and contribute to the achievement of the Department's strategic objectives.
