About the Role
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
PoweringWA is driving Western Australia’s energy transition, leading efforts to decarbonize our energy systems while powering the State’s future growth. By working with industry, government and communities, we are accelerating new transmission, generation and storage projects and ensuring the benefits of the transition are shared across the State.
As a Policy Analyst, you will play an important role in supporting programs, projects and initiatives that empower Aboriginal peoples to participate in and benefit from the clean energy transition. Working closely with Aboriginal communities, businesses and organisations, as well as government agencies and industry stakeholders, you will help foster meaningful partnerships, support evidence-based policy development and contribute to positive outcomes for Aboriginal peoples across the energy sector.
In this role, you will undertake research and analysis to identify emerging policy issues, provide advice on government support and opportunities available through the clean energy transition, and assist in the preparation of briefings, reports, correspondence and presentations. You will also contribute to project teams, support stakeholder engagement activities and help build trusted relationships that facilitate collaboration, information sharing and informed decision-making.
This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative and analytical professional who is passionate about driving positive social and economic outcomes for Aboriginal communities while contributing to the delivery of a more sustainable energy future.
The Department of Energy and Economic Diversification is committed to increasing employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As a measure to achieve equality, Section 51 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA) will apply to this position and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are strongly encouraged to apply.
