About the role

The role of the Pharmacy Technician is to assist the Pharmacist with stock maintenance and supply of medications to all patients in custody at prisons operated by the W.A. Department of Justice.

This position entails the incumbent to possess good communication, teamwork, time management and organisational skills to effectively carry out duties which primarily include dispensing, blister packing, preparing schedule eight unit dose packs and other tasks as required.

Suitability Requirements

Through the recruitment process, we will be looking for candidates who can demonstrate skills, experience and attributes in relation to the following:

1. Pharmacy Qualification - Pharmacy Technician or equivalent.
2. Experience in dispensing medications - recent and relevant.
3. Administration and Computer skills.
4. Communication skills - Communicating with a diverse range of people in a written and oral form.
5. Time Management and Organisational Skills.
6. Demonstrated knowledge and previous experience with the operation of a unit dose blister packing system.
7. Previous experience with requirements concerning the issue of schedule eight medications.

Eligibility

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

This pool will be open for a period of twelve (12) months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Fixed term, casual, full time and part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies for the duration of the pool.
