Calling all HR Graduates!  Start your HR career and experience the diverse world of HR.

Experience more. Learn more. Grow your HR career.

Whether you are about to graduate, have recently graduated or have graduated and looking to build on your existing HR experience, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

At Forest Products Commission (FPC), we’re offering a unique graduate development opportunity to a talented individual to join our high performing and supportive People and Culture team. You’ll gain hands-on experience across all aspects of human resource management including talent management, strategic initiatives and learning and development to help deliver our people strategy.

If you’re curious, adaptable, enjoy solving problems and are keen to continue your learning, we’d love to hear from you!

APPLICATIONS CLOSE AT 4PM ON MONDAY 16 NOVEMBER 2026.

The Forest Products Commission (FPC) is an efficient commercial Government Trading Entity that makes a big impact.  FPC primarily works in the pine plantation forestry sector across the diverse environment of Western Australia.  Their work is shaping the future of the forest products industry.

FPC has transitioned its business in alignment with the government’s changes in forest policy. This has resulted in a shift from commercial scale native forestry management to being a contract manager providing contracted harvest and haul services to the Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions for forest health outcomes.  The FPC has maintained its increased softwood plantation development activity to support WA’s housing and construction industry.

One role. So many opportunities to learn, grow and make a difference.

As our People and Culture Graduate, you’ll become part of a high performing, collaborative team supporting a purposeful, dynamic and evolving organisation. You’ll have the opportunity to experience the many different sides of HR and organisational development, building practical skills, confidence and a strong foundation for your future career.

No two days will necessarily be the same. You could be supporting a recruitment campaign, helping coordinate a learning and development initiative, contributing to an employee wellbeing program or assisting with the people processes that keep our organisation running.

You’ll gain exposure to a broad range of activities, including:

  • Talent management and HR operations – supporting recruitment processes, employee enquiries and everyday HR activities.
  • Organisational development – contributing to initiatives that strengthen our workplace culture, employee wellbeing, diversity and inclusion.
  • Learning and development – helping coordinate training programs and supporting the systems and processes that build employee capability.
  • People and Culture services – developing your understanding of HR systems, policies, processes and the practical application of HR in a public sector environment.

You’ll start by building your skills in the essential activities that support our People and Culture team, before progressively taking on broader responsibilities as your knowledge and confidence grow.

And we won’t expect you to know everything on day one.

Whether you’re starting your HR career or looking to build on your existing experience, you’ll be supported by experienced HR professionals who are invested in helping you succeed. You’ll have opportunities to develop new skills, take on challenges and broaden your experience across People and Culture.

Where you start depends on the experience and capabilities you bring.

Starting your HR career

If you’re completing your HR studies or have recently graduated, you’ll have the opportunity to join us at Level 3 and undertake a tailored graduate development program. You’ll build practical experience, develop your skills and confidence, and work towards progression to Level 4 as you successfully demonstrate the required capabilities and achieve the program’s development outcomes.

Building on your HR experience

If you’ve completed your HR qualification and gained relevant experience, you may be considered for direct appointment at Level 4. You’ll have the opportunity to apply your existing knowledge, take on new challenges and further broaden your experience across HR and organisational development.
