About The Role:
As Manager Human Resources you will lead a team of HR practitioners to deliver high-quality services including recruitment, classification, performance management, employee relations and industrial relations. You will provide trusted advice to senior leaders on complex workforce matters, legislation and organisational impacts, and drive HR projects and initiatives that strengthen DHW’s culture, improve service delivery and support departmental priorities.
You will build strong relationships across the department and with key external agencies, use workforce data to inform decision-making, and ensure HR practices are transparent, compliant and aligned with public sector frameworks. The Manager Human Resources models DHW’s values and leadership behaviours and contributes to continuous improvement across Workforce Services.
About You:
We’re looking for a people‑centred, values‑driven HR leader with a passion for delivering HR practices that are both values‑based and aligned with public sector frameworks.
You will bring to the role strong judgement, strategic insight and a genuine passion for people. You will help set the tone for a positive, contemporary workforce culture that provides HR solutions that are grounded in empathy, clarity, accountability and respect.
As one of three team leaders within Workforce Services you will lead a dedicated team and, as part of the Workforce Services leadership team, work collaboratively with your fellow team members to drive innovative HR practices and solutions that support a large and complex workforce. This is your opportunity to influence meaningful change, solve challenging people matters, and contribute to a department that plays a vital role for Western Australians.
If you’re energised by the chance to lead others, build strong relationships and deliver HR solutions that make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
In particular, we are looking for candidates who have:
- Experience in managing a variety of HR issues or functions.
- Confidence to lead through change and navigate ambiguity.
- A mindset that embraces creativity, critical thinking and continuous improvement
This position operates in the context of Leading Others. This means you will be required to deliver results through leaders and your teams in a single business area, and by influencing leaders in other business areas. You will add value by providing direction and developing and coaching your leaders to achieve operational objectives. You will make decisions about how services should be provided based on the resources at hand.
How to Apply:
If you have what it takes to be part of our dynamic and forward-thinking team, submit the following in MS Word or PDF format only:
1. A comprehensive CV that shows your skills, experiences and key achievements, including the contact details of two referees (with one being your current or most recent supervisor).
2. Cover letter of two (2) pages or less, outlining your experience in leading through periods of change.
Please ensure you apply before the closing deadline as we won’t accept late and incomplete applications.
