The Role

As Manager Corporate Services, the successful applicant will play an important role in the leadership and effective operation of the school. Working collaboratively with the principal and leadership team, the Manager Corporate Services would contribute to financial decision-making, workforce and resource management.

A key responsibility of this position is the line management of Auslan Interpreters, Auslan Language Specialists and Special Needs Education Assistants. These positions have distinct roles, responsibilities and professional boundaries within our school. The successful applicant should display, or be willing to develop, a strong understanding of the different functions and responsibilities of each role and the importance of each in supporting students and classroom programs. This includes recognising the specialist contribution of Auslan Language Specialists to students’ language development, Deaf identity and cultural connection; the role of Auslan Interpreters in facilitating communication access; and the role of Special Needs Education Assistants in supporting students’ individual learning and participation.

The Manager Corporate Services would work closely with teaching staff and school leadership to ensure these staff are effectively deployed, appropriately supported and working within the scope of their respective roles. The ability to lead a diverse team, recognise individual expertise and understand how different staff roles work together to support student outcomes will be highly regarded.

The successful applicant will ideally display highly developed organisational and financial management skills, with the capacity to effectively manage the diverse responsibilities of the role while ensuring compliance with Department of Education policies, procedures and financial requirements. They would provide leadership to corporate services staff and act as an effective liaison between the school, families, Department personnel and the broader community.

We are seeking a positive, collaborative and solutions-focused team member with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. Ideally, the successful applicant would model the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, discretion and confidentiality and actively contribute to a respectful and supportive workplace culture. The ability to communicate and address concerns through appropriate channels and maintain constructive working relationships is highly desirable.

The successful applicant will ideally have a thorough understanding and operational knowledge of the systems, policies and processes required to effectively manage school corporate services. Experience using RM Finance, RM Billing, RM Asset Manager, Compass, FlexiPurchase and the Recruitment Advertising Management System (RAMS) to maintain, monitor, analyse and extract information would be highly regarded.

Relevant experience in end-of-month, end-of-calendar-year and financial-year reporting will also be highly regarded, together with a sound understanding of Department of Education financial management requirements and government and school procurement processes.

Above all, we are looking for someone who would contribute positively to a workplace characterised by respect, collaboration, professionalism and a shared commitment to achieving the best outcomes for our students and school community.
