Eastern Goldfields Education Support Centre (EGESC) provides specialised education for high school students with mild, moderate, or severe intellectual disabilities, as well as students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who have exceptionally high educational needs. Many of our students also present with additional complex conditions that require support.

EGESC is co-located with Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School (KBCHS), in South Kalgoorlie. While sharing a site, EGESC operates as a distinct Education Support Centre, with its own staff, leadership, and tailored programs focused on student engagement, WA curriculum, functional skill development, and post-school pathways.

The Role

As a Library Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the library is running smoothly and providing excellent reference, information, and associated services to students, staff, and parents. You will have the opportunity to supervise the day-to-day operations of the library and take charge of maintaining and processing library resources, making them easily accessible to all. You will conduct library skills training, helping students and staff to make the most of the resources available to them. Additionally, you will assist in selecting program and age-appropriate materials, ensuring that the library has the resources needed to support the curriculum and the needs of the students and staff.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will be responsible for preparing and monitoring the library budget, making recommendations for new resources, and coordinating library visits. You will also provide technical advice on the library's IT system and supervise staff and students.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for libraries and the desire to take their skills to the next level. You will have the chance to work in a dynamic and stimulating environment and make a real difference in the lives of students and staff.
