The Role
The ICT Systems Administrator works within the operations team to achieve the ongoing development of technical systems administration, management, capacity planning, procedures and processes. The ICT Systems Administrator ensures that all systems are administered in accordance with The Department policies and processes, environments are maintained and meet the Department’s operational requirements.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have demonstrated experience in systems administration within a complex enterprise ICT environment, including support and maintenance of hybrid cloud environments over multiple remote sites, with Microsoft solutions as the primary platform across Azure, modern workplace services and supporting on-premises physical infrastructure. You will bring a security-focused approach, including an understanding of Zero Trust principles, together with strong DevOps practices, automation, and the effective use of contemporary automation toolsets and platforms to improve operational efficiency, reliability and service delivery.

Suitability requirements for this position: 

• Eligibility – Industry qualifications and relevant certifications are desirable.
• Pre employment conditions – National Police Clearance.
• Organisational requirements – Physical attendance with ability to commute to multiple worksites and datacentres, primarily stationed at the Departments Djookanup location.
• Visa validity - To be appointed to a position at the Department, you need to be able to provide evidence of your right to work in Australia. Permanent appointments will require Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency or New Zealand Citizenship with unrestricted work rights. Fixed term appointments will require a valid working visa.
