The Role

We are seeking an innovative and forward-thinking Head of Learning Area (HOLA) – Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) work alongside our existing HOLA in leading our HASS learning area.

In collaboration with the Principal and members of the administrative team, the successful applicant would provide educational leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school vision and creating a positive school culture.

Some of your key responsibilities may include the following:

• Leadership: Provide an active leadership role in the ongoing development and implementation of a positive and caring learning environment across the school.
• Student Well-Being: Promote the self-esteem of students and nurture their social and emotional well-being, facilitating problem-solving mechanisms involving student welfare.
• Exemplary Practice: Model exemplary High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) to staff and students.
• Performance Development: Undertake performance development of staff in the Humanities and Social Sciences learning area.
• Resource Management: Consult on the selection of resources, manage the relevant budgets, and contribute to the ongoing management and review of the school's accountability processes.
• Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with the other Humanities and Social Sciences HOLA and the wider leadership team to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach across the learning area.
• Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents and community organisations to enhance the Humanities and Social Sciences program.

As HOLA, you would oversee the promotion and delivery of general and ATAR courses across the Humanities and Social Sciences learning area.
