The Role

EGC is seeking an educational leader who is passionate about developing people, building team capacity and driving excellence in teaching and learning. We recognise that successful leaders come from a range of backgrounds and career stages. If you have strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to developing others, and a desire to lead improvement, we will provide the support and professional learning to help you succeed.

This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring or experienced leader to join a highly supportive Senior Leadership Team, where leadership development is embedded through mentoring, coaching, collaborative leadership opportunities and professional learning. Deputy Principals work closely alongside Heads of Department to provide guidance, build capability and support professional growth.

As a member of the College Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Principal and Executive Team to provide educational leadership within the College and the broader community. The primary focus of this role is leading a learning area through the development of staff capability and the promotion of high-quality teaching and learning practices.

Our ideal applicant would lead a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and shared responsibility, supporting teachers to strengthen their practice and maximise outcomes for students. As a curriculum leader, you will provide professional guidance within your learning area, lead curriculum planning, assessment and moderation processes, facilitate professional learning and use data to inform improvement and raise student achievement.

The role also includes contributing to whole-school improvement through strategic planning, policy development, participative decision-making and the implementation of College priorities. The successful applicant will be an effective change leader who can build commitment, strengthen team performance and contribute to a culture of excellence for every student.

At EGC, we are committed to developing great teachers, great leaders and successful students. If you bring the personal qualities, commitment and willingness to learn, we will provide the opportunities, support and coaching to help you thrive as a leader.
