This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026

Nestled in the heart of the Midwest, Mingenew Primary School is an important and cherished part of the local community. We currently have an enrolment of 65 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Mingenew is a safe and vibrant community, and our students are supported by families who are connected to our school and engaged in their child’s education. We strive to create a learning environment that is inclusive, safe and welcoming for our staff, students and families. We work hard to maintain a positive team environment and make our school a great place to come to learn and work each day.

The Role

Mingenew Primary School is seeking a gardener - handyperson who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and enjoys gardening and working in the outdoors.

The position ideally will be up to 20 hours per week (0.6 FTE) however there is some flexibility to tailor this to best meet the requirements of the school and the successful applicant. The hours and days worked can be negotiated for the right person.

Ideally, the successful applicant will be able to work independently, attending to gardening and basic handyperson tasks in a school environment. Tasks will include maintaining garden beds and lawn areas, upkeep of the oval and reticulation system and completing minor maintenance jobs as they arise in a safe and efficient manner.

The successful applicant would be joining a dedicated team of teaching and non-teaching staff, and they would need to be willing to contribute and work as part of this team. They should be prepared to build positive relationships within our school community. The physical environment and outdoor spaces are something that we are both very proud of and very grateful for here at Mingenew Primary School and we are hoping to find someone with the same outlook.
