About You

If you're passionate about contemporary art, creative programs and building opportunities for emerging artists, this is a rare opportunity to lead a gallery that sits at the heart of one of WA's largest creative education environments. You'll curate inspiring exhibitions, manage a significant art collection, and create experiences that connect students with industry, artists and the wider community.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Curating and delivering a dynamic program of exhibitions, events and creative projects.
• Building strong relationships with artists, cultural organisations and industry partners across Western Australia.
• Managing and developing the NMTAFE Art Collection, including acquisitions, documentation and presentation.
• Leading a small team and overseeing gallery operations, budgets and resources.
• Promoting gallery activities and contributing to the visibility of NMTAFE's Creative Industries programs.
• Creating opportunities for students to connect with industry and gain real-world exposure to the arts sector

There is also an option to accrue an additional two weeks leave each year on top of your standard four weeks annual leave.

Eligibility Requirements and Other Conditions

To be considered eligible for employment, you will:

• Possess current and valid Australian working rights (e.g. Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or an appropriate working visa). Please note, visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
• Hold, or have the ability to obtain:
  • Department of Education Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
  • Working With Children (WWC) Card
