Are you experienced in fleet management and interested in supporting Western Australia’s transition to electric vehicles?

The Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure is seeking a proactive and organised Fleet Management and EV Officer to join the Procurement Systems and Fleet Branch. In this role, you will support the effective coordination, acquisition, maintenance, utilisation and disposal of the Department’s vehicle fleet while contributing to fleet optimisation, sustainability and emissions-reduction initiatives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working in a large fleet management environment within a diverse and complex organisation.
  • Strong competency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
  • Well-developed analytical, research, investigative and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • The ability to liaise and negotiate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously, prioritise competing demands and meet agreed timeframes.
  • A current C or C-A Class driver’s licence.

A motor vehicle trade qualification, Automotive Trade Certificate or equivalent relevant experience will be highly regarded.

About the role

You will:

  • Support day-to-day fleet operations, including vehicle acquisitions, replacements, transfers, maintenance and disposals.
  • Assist with the administration of the Government Vehicle Scheme, Senior Officer Vehicle Scheme, home garaging arrangements and vehicle logbooks.
  • Contribute to the operational rollout of the State Government’s electric vehicle transition mandate.
  • Undertake EV suitability assessments and provide input into charging infrastructure, vehicle specifications and operational requirements.
  • Support the review and implementation of fleet-related policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Provide advice and assistance to vehicle custodians, drivers, managers and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with fleet reporting, compliance monitoring, financial processing and annual stocktakes.
  • Administer the Booking Manager system, maintain data integrity and support the introduction of EV-compatible booking processes.
