Position Profile: We are currently seeking to appoint a Executive Coordinator.

The Executive Coordinator provides executive and administrative operational, project and policy support to the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services, as well as the Nursing and Midwifery leadership team. The position also undertakes a coordination role through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, manages complex and sensitive information and coordinates effective and timely management of workflow processes, requests for information and action including coordination of priority issues.

Area Profile: The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors.

Suitability Criteria:

Suitability recognises that a range of factors contribute to merit, including skills, knowledge, abilities, behaviours, ethical alignment and relevant operational requirements. The suitability requirements below are derived from the Job Description Form and define what will be assessed to determine your suitability for the role:

  1. Proven experience in providing high level executive and administrative support including knowledge of operations and procedures at senior executive levels and the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information with tact and discretionexecutive levels and the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information with tact and discretion.
  2. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to work collaboratively, write clearly and concisely and to draft and prepare a range of high-level documentation.
  3. Demonstrated high level computer skills, including previous experience using relevant health information systems.
  4. Highly developed interpersonal skills including influencing skills with demonstrated ability to proactively establish and sustain effective stakeholder relations at all levels and to liaise on diverse issues at a strategic level.
  5. Highly developed organisational and self-management skills with proven ability to apply initiative, plan and prioritise effectively in a high-pressured environment and manage multiple concurrent assignments to deliver quality outputs to strict deadlines.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants found suitable for this position may be considered for other ‘similar’ vacancies within WACHS and/or the wider WA public sector. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
