About VenuesWest

VenuesWest enriches the lives of Western Australians by offering opportunities for those pursuing elite sport, a range of options for individuals or families choosing to live healthy, active lifestyles and a variety of entertainment experiences for everyone. Our vision is to be Australia’s leading provider of sport and entertainment venues and precincts.

About the Role

VenuesWest is looking to establish a pool of practical safety professionals to support event and venue operations, facilities, capital works and projects.

These hands-on roles work closely with event delivery teams, capital works teams, contractors, hirers and project managers. You will provide practical safety advice, support risk assessments, SWMS and Permit to Work readiness, help prepare contractors and events for safe delivery, monitor higher-risk work and changing conditions, and assist with incident response and corrective actions.

Reporting to the Chief Safety Officer, you will help build a positive safety culture, and support the VenuesWest Safety and Risk Framework.

These opportunities would suit safety professionals who enjoy working in fast-paced operational environments and making a visible difference to the safety of workers, contractors and patrons. We welcome applicants with relevant experience from events, venues, construction, facilities, infrastructure, maintenance and other operational industries.

We currently have one permanent, full-time position, located at RAC Arena, for immediate filling. While this position will be based at RAC Arena, mobility may be required between different venues. Whilst the position will be based at RAC Arena in Perth’s CBD, mobility may be required between the portfolio of facilities.

This pool may also be used to fill future vacancies, including an additional Safety Coordinator within Portfolio Management (Maintenance and Capital works) located at Perth High Performance Centre (HPC).

Due to the nature of the work undertaken, this position may be exposed to traumatic events in the workplace. VenuesWest is committed to proactively ensuring the psychosocial safety and health of our workers through risk control and provision of services to support workers exposed to and impacted by traumatic events.

What We Offer

Working with VenuesWest comes with a range of benefits – please see our Employee Value Proposition attached for more information.

About the Person

We are seeking a proactive and engaging safety professional with experience supporting workplace, contractor and event safety within a dynamic operational environment. You are comfortable working in fast-paced environments, responding to competing priorities and emerging issues, and have a proven ability to influence positive safety outcomes through collaboration, coaching and visible leadership.

Experience in event, venue, entertainment, sporting or public-facing environments will be highly regarded.
