Regional Learning Initiatives are seeking to establish a pool of Engagement Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2026 and up to the end of April, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Western Australian Department of Education has entered into an agreement with the Australian Government Department of Education, to develop and deliver the Scaling Up Success in Remote Schools Program. Through this program, the Regional Learning Initiative will work to expand the Kimberley Schools Project to selected schools in the Goldfields, Midwest and Pilbara Education Regions.
The project has 2 key components:
- Targeted teaching – evidence-based teaching strategies, quality materials and frequent measurement of achievement.
- Community engagement – development with the community of extended learning programs and related initiatives. Support includes coaching and advice for school leaders and teachers around building and sustaining positive school-community partnerships.
The Engagement Officer, Regional Learning Initiatives will be based in the Goldfields, Midwest and Pilbara Education Regions.
The Role
Regional Learning Initiatives is seeking to appoint a pool of dedicated and enthusiastic Engagement Officers – Regional Learning Initiatives.
If successful, you will work within the Scaling up Success team to provide strategic advice to schools on developing and sustaining community engagement procedures to enhance positive community–school relationships. It will be your responsibility to support and lead the effective implementation of procedures and processes in schools to ensure non-attending and alienated students participate and are engaged in educational programs.
The Engagement Officer will provide strategic advice and support to principals, school staff and the project team in the implementation of school engagement strategies and policy and legislative compliance. Within this role the successful applicant will implement and manage system level initiatives relating to student and community engagement at regional level.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively to enhance the development of regional level interagency and cross-sectoral links in relation to engagement.
This position involves regular travel to remote schools and regional communities. Travel is a significant requirement of the role and will involve periods away from home. Applicants should consider their capacity to undertake frequent travel when considering applying for the role.

Eligibility
