We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants – Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Nestled in the charming rural town of Kirup, just 55km from Bunbury on the Southwest Highway between Donnybrook and Balingup, Kirup Primary School offers a warm and inclusive learning environment where children thrive both academically and personally.
We cater to students from Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6), offering a quality education tailored to each child's individual needs. With small class sizes and a strong teacher-to-student ratio, every child receives the attention they deserve, including those requiring enrichment or additional support.
Our purpose is simple: to create a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can reach their full potential; academically, socially, creatively, and emotionally. We believe that learning is most successful when students, staff, and families work together in a spirit of trust, communication, and joy.

Ideal applicants will have the ability to work with limited supervision to deliver small group and intervention programs as provided by the classroom teacher.
Suitable applicants should ideally have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students and teachers, and should ideally also have a strong knowledge of a range of evidence-based techniques for learning and behaviour and have some experience or knowledge of disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder.
To be suitable in this role, you should ideally be organised and able to use your initiative to assist the teacher with the general care and wellbeing of students and maintenance of the learning environment. You should be capable of working under general supervision and autonomously, and contribute advice and expertise, collaborating with school community members to support student achievement.
