We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants Special Needs (EASN) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Opening in 2027, Alkimos North East Primary School (PS) will provide a high-quality education for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 within a culture of belonging, high expectations and strong community partnership.

As a foundation school, Alkimos North East Primary School has a unique opportunity to intentionally establish the culture, learning environment and teaching practices that will shape the school's future. From the outset, the school will be committed to creating a connected community where every student is known, valued and supported to achieve success.

Find out more about our school by visiting Alkimos North East Primary School Facebook Page or Schools Online.

The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally work in close partnership with classroom teachers to deliver education programs and help build supportive and inclusive learning environments. Our EASN will ideally work flexibly across individual, small group and whole class settings, both in and out of the classroom, to actively support student learning goals and deliver targeted intervention programs. In our Kindergarten and Pre-Primary classes, there is a genuinely collaborative teaching role with EASN working alongside the teacher to support learning across the whole class.

EASN would support teachers in delivering planned education programs, helping every student to succeed through the development of academic, social, emotional and physical skills, recognising that many students benefit from this support. Within this role, applicants may also be asked to provide feedback on education and therapy programs and to contribute to the evaluation of student progress toward individual goals.

The ideal applicants will ideally have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff to meet students' needs. Applicants with knowledge and experience supporting students with a range of disabilities and learning difficulties and the ability to foster both academic and social growth within a classroom setting are strongly encouraged to apply.
