The Role

As a Mainstream Education Assistant, you should have a passion for working with students and have highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills. Suitable applicants will ideally be committed to achieving the best educational outcomes for our students. In this role you would work as part of a dedicated team and provides you with the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to our school community. You would work across a range of classrooms, therefore the ability to be flexible will be an advantage, especially as the school grows in size. Ideally, the personal qualities that you bring to this role include a commitment to team before self; solutions focused problem solving; fostering a growth mindset; engaging in regular reflective practice and; acting on feedback.

In this role, you would assist teachers with the delivery of engaging classroom instruction and provide targeted support to students as needed. Your focus should be on creating a positive learning environment that caters to diverse needs and promotes student growth. Collaboration is key, and you will ideally work closely with teachers, students, and families to support the educational goals of the school. We value adaptability and initiative, so being proactive in responding to student needs and adapting to various classroom situations is highly desirable.

Suitable applicants will have sound oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with students, parents and teaching professionals. The role involves helping to implement lesson plans and classroom activities, providing one-on-one or small group support as directed by the teacher, and contributing to an inclusive and engaging learning atmosphere. Monitoring and reporting on student progress and behaviour will also be part of your responsibilities.
