We are seeking to establish a pool of Mainstream Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

As a Mainstream Education Assistant, suitable applicants will assist in the delivery of planned education programs that support the development and learning of young minds. In this role, you will collaborate and work effectively within a team environment. Education Assistants will ideally possess good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills to enable the implementation of individual and small group programs, as well as the ability to support the general health and wellbeing of students.

We are ideally seeking Education Assistants who have knowledge and experience in the MiniLit and MultiLit programs, with the ability to confidently support students in literacy development. Suitable applicants should be self-driven, organised and able to work independently, particularly when working with small groups of students.

You should be able to use initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of an engaging and supportive learning environment. Working under teacher direction in this diverse role, you would provide support to ensure the learning environment is inclusive, relevant and responsive to the needs of all students, with student health and safety being a high priority.

Managing student behaviour in accordance with school policies and programs is an important aspect of this role. Suitable applicants should display a positive and supportive approach to student behaviour and be able to build respectful relationships with students while encouraging their independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
