We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants - Mainstream for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Dwellingup Primary School (PS) is part of the Sustainable Schools Initiative and is set amidst the jarrah and marri forests in the outer metro region of Perth. Built on beautiful grounds, our friendly school provides a relaxed atmosphere by incorporating lovely gardens, murals and art installations.

With the local community at the heart of the school, we have developed positive, mutually respectful partnerships with both parents and community and our experienced staff ensure children are given every opportunity to develop their skills. We strongly value our moral purpose to “strive to provide every child with the skills to achieve their full potential and become a successful lifelong learner in an environment built on care, respect and belonging.”

The Role

As a Mainstream Education Assistant, you will assist in the delivery of planned education programs that will help in the development of young minds. In this role, the successful applicant should ideally collaborate and work well in a team environment. Education Assistants will ideally possess good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group multi-level programs, as well as the ability to support the general health and well-being of students. Ideally, the successful applicant should be organised and be able to use your initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment. It would be beneficial if the applicant has experience in delivering Initialit programs in literacy and can comfortably work across all year levels.

Working under teacher direction in a diverse role, you would also provide support to ensure the learning environment is inclusive and relevant, with the health and safety of students being a high priority. Managing student behaviour in accordance with school policies and programs is an important aspect of this role.
