We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Yanchep Rise Primary School (PS) is located in the rapidly growing coastal community of Yanchep, approximately 56 kilometres north of Perth. Opening in February 2021, the school has experienced significant enrolment growth, with further substantial growth anticipated over the next two years.
Our school community is diverse, with students from a wide range of cultural, social and educational backgrounds, including a growing Aboriginal population and an increasing number of students presenting with complex learning, behavioural and social-emotional needs.
At Yanchep Rise PS, “Students are at the centre of everything we do.” Our RISER values of Respect, Integrity, Safety, Excellence and Resilience underpin our positive school culture and high expectations for teaching, learning and behaviour.
We have established consistent whole-school approaches to explicit teaching, literacy, numeracy and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), complemented by the Berry Street Education Model. We are committed to inclusive education, building staff capacity and ensuring every student is supported to achieve success.

The Role
In response to significant enrolment growth and projected increases in student numbers over the next two years, Yanchep Rise PS is establishing a pool of suitable applicants for Deputy Principal positions. Opportunities may arise for permanent or fixed-term appointments, on a full-time or part-time basis.
The Deputy Principal will work collaboratively with the Principal and other Deputy Principals to provide strong instructional, operational and student services leadership across the school. Responsibilities will be shared across the leadership team, with this position having a particular focus on Student Services in Years 3-6, alongside broader whole-school leadership responsibilities.
We are seeking highly organised, adaptable and solutions-focused leaders, ideally with experience in supporting students with complex behavioural, learning and social-emotional needs. Suitable applicants should have a sound understanding of inclusive education, disability resourcing, individual education and behaviour planning, and effective approaches to supporting students at educational risk.
A key aspect of the role will involve coordinating student support, managing complex cases and working collaboratively with teachers, education assistants, families, school psychologists and external agencies. Suitable applicants should have the ability to respond confidently and calmly to challenging situations, support staff in managing complex behaviour and maintain high expectations within a safe, predictable and inclusive learning environment.
Suitable applicants will also contribute to whole-school improvement, instructional leadership, staff development and the consistent implementation of established teaching and behaviour practices. Strong organisational skills, sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities in a rapidly growing school will be important.
We are looking for visible, approachable and resilient leaders who could build positive relationships, communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a leadership team. Suitable applicants should display a commitment to reflective practice, developing staff capacity and balancing compassion and understanding with clear expectations and accountability.
Above all, we are seeking Deputy Principals who are committed to putting students at the centre of every decision, strengthening consistent whole-school practices and contributing positively to the continued growth and development of Yanchep Rise PS.
