The Role
We are seeking an exceptional educational leader to join Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School as Deputy Principal – Student Services. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a highly regarded Student Services team and make a meaningful difference to the wellbeing, engagement, and success of every student.
Working in partnership with the Principal and Executive Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership across student wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, engagement, and pastoral care while helping to shape and promote the school's vision, values, and culture. You will work collaboratively with staff, students, families, and external agencies to ensure every student is supported to achieve their personal, social, and academic potential.
As a key member of the executive team, you will foster positive and respectful relationships across the school community and lead a proactive, solutions-focused approach to supporting students with diverse needs. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong understanding of contemporary student services practices, restorative and evidence-informed approaches to student wellbeing and behaviour, and the ability to navigate complex situations with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgement.
We are looking for an experienced and reflective leader who is passionate about building an inclusive school culture where students are known, valued, and supported to succeed. You will bring exceptional interpersonal and organisational skills, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and community agencies. Experience in leading student wellbeing initiatives, case management, attendance improvement, behaviour support, and whole-school systems will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will be an influential leader who inspires confidence, builds staff capacity, and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement, high expectations, and collective responsibility for student success.
A significant advantage of this appointment is that the successful applicant will receive a 10-week handover and transition period with the current Deputy Principal – Student Services. This extended induction will provide valuable opportunities to build relationships, develop a thorough understanding of the school's systems and processes, and ensure a smooth and well-supported transition into the role.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $4 000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
