Working closely with the Depot Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliable delivery of rail services by coordinating rolling stock movements, supporting operational readiness and maintaining strong relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

This is a dynamic leadership opportunity where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for overseeing daily depot operations, coordinating railcar availability, supporting incident management, managing rostering and payroll activities, and providing leadership and mentoring to operational staff. With responsibility for maintaining operational standards, driving continuous improvement and acting on behalf of the Depot Manager when required, this role offers the opportunity to make a direct contribution to the safe and reliable movement of thousands of passengers across the network each day.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong operational leadership experience, sound rail industry knowledge and a commitment to delivering safe, reliable and customer-focused outcomes. You will demonstrate:

  • Sound computer literacy, including experience using rostering, payroll and workforce management systems, together with proficiency across Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
