About Us

The Insurance Commission is a major self-funded statutory authority at the heart of the Western Australian community.

The Opportunity

We are excited to offer a permanent opportunity for an experienced Demand Manager to join our IT Business Partnering function.

This role plays a critical part in helping shape how technology investment decisions are made across the Insurance Commission. Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, you will lead the governance, prioritisation and planning of technology demand, ensuring initiatives are aligned to organisational priorities, deliver measurable value and can be successfully delivered within available capacity.

As the key link between business strategy and technology delivery, you will influence portfolio priorities, provide forward-looking capacity and resource insights, facilitate governance forums and support informed decision-making across both operational and transformational initiatives.

This is an opportunity to both establish and operate a contemporary demand management capability. You will help mature technology demand management practices, embed strong governance foundations, and drive the day-to-day processes that support consistent, transparent and value-focused technology investment decisions across the organisation.

For further information about the role, you can view the attached Job Description Form (JDF) or contact Rob Marchesi on (08) 9264 3315.

About You

You are an experienced technology, portfolio, delivery, PMO or demand management professional with a strong track record of influencing outcomes, managing competing priorities and building trusted relationships with stakeholders.

You have successfully operated in complex environments where balancing strategic priorities, delivery capability and organisational outcomes is critical. You are comfortable facilitating prioritisation discussions, providing recommendations supported by data and insight, and helping stakeholders navigate competing demands.

You will bring demonstrated experience in:

  • Demand management, portfolio governance, prioritisation and planning within a medium to large organisation.
  • Resource and capacity planning to support the successful delivery of operational and transformational initiatives.
  • Analysing complex information and translating insights into practical recommendations and actions.
  • Building strong partnerships with business and technology stakeholders to influence outcomes and achieve shared objectives.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements that improve transparency, efficiency and customer experience.

As part of our Team, you will enjoy

  • Flexible working arrangements, including the opportunity to work from home.
  • Additional three public service holidays each year plus long service leave after seven years of service.
  • Ongoing career development, professional learning opportunities, and support to grow your skills and capabilities.
  • Salary packaging options, including novated leasing for a new vehicle.
  • Modern workplace including a parents and multi-faith room, conveniently located close to major public transport hubs.
  • Complimentary access to onsite wellness facilities, including a gym, sauna and swimming pool.
  • Bright and welcoming social spaces with complimentary coffee machines, stunning city and river views, and easy access to a range of dining and lifestyle amenities.
  • State-of-the-art end-of-trip facilities to support active and sustainable commuting.
