About the role
Every project that intersects with a freight rail corridor has a story. It might be a new piece of critical infrastructure, a major development, utility works, or a community project. Behind the scenes, someone must bring together diverse stakeholders, balance competing priorities, navigate complex approval processes and ensure the interests of the rail network are protected. As the Corridor Stakeholder Coordinator, you will play a central role in making this happen, acting as the key link between the PTA, freight rail operators, project teams and external stakeholders seeking access to the rail corridor.
In this dynamic role, no two days will be the same. You may be coordinating access arrangements for works within the corridor, providing specialist advice on land and rail matters, or facilitating discussions to resolve project and operational challenges. Your ability to build strong relationships, interpret complex information and find practical solutions will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in alignment with operational, commercial and statutory requirements.
This opportunity would suit an experienced people leader who thrives in complex stakeholder environments. You will have a demonstrated ability to lead, develop and empower teams, together with experience in one or more of the following areas: approvals management, project coordination, stakeholder engagement, or customer-focused service delivery. Drawing on experience from transport, infrastructure, utilities, government, property, or a related sector, you will bring a collaborative approach, sound judgement, and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for the PTA, stakeholders and the wider community.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Relevant technical expertise, including a relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience, with demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex legislation, agreements and land tenure arrangements, substantial experience managing stakeholders in complex maintenance, infrastructure or works environments, and proven success coordinating projects and improvement initiatives to achieve business objectives through effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build productive stakeholder relationships, provide specialist advice, negotiate outcomes, prepare clear and concise written documentation, and contribute effectively within a customer-focused team environment.
- Substantial experience in people management, including the ability to develop staff and manage teams in a changing environment.
