About the role
Every day, thousands of students rely on safe and reliable school bus services to get them to and from school. Behind every journey is a commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Safety, Quality and Compliance Coordinator to help shape and strengthen that commitment. In this critical role, you will champion safety excellence across the Schoolbuses ranch, ensuring contractors, systems and processes meet applicable standards of Work Health and Safety, quality and operational compliance.
As a trusted advisor to the Schoolbuses team, you will be the person who sees opportunities before they become problems. From leading audits and incident investigations to managing risk registers and compliance programs, you will turn data into action and drive meaningful improvements across the business. Your expertise will help ensure that safety management systems remain effective, legislative requirements are met, and contractors are supported to achieve strong safety outcomes. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will influence decisions, build capability and contribute to a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility.
You are a confident leader with a minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and a proven track record in developing and auditing safety management systems within operational or contractor-based environments. You combine strong analytical thinking with practical problem-solving skills and can confidently interpret legislation, investigate issues and implement sustainable solutions. You are also comfortable coordinating competing priorities, driving continuous improvement and leading others through organisational change. Equally important is your ability to engage others, lead a small team, mentor staff and deliver training that builds knowledge, accountability and a positive safety culture. If you are driven by making a genuine impact and want to play a key role in keeping communities connected safely, we would love to hear from you.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Completion of a Work Health & Safety qualification to minimum level of a AQF Certificate IV.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, maintaining and auditing Safety Management systems as they apply to a contracting and operational environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in risk management.
- Proven ability to undertake compliance audits, incident investigations and reviews, analyse findings, implement corrective and preventative actions, and drive continuous improvement outcomes.
- Substantial knowledge of, and proven ability to interpret and apply, relevant legislation, standards, policies and procedures, and provide specialist advice on safety, risk and compliance matters to management and stakeholders.
