What is a Temporary Vacancy Register?

The Department of Energy and Economic Diversification Temporary Vacancy Register is an online portal that allows you to register your interest for short term opportunities, both full and part-time.

This register is actively monitored to match applicants to available employment opportunities as they arise.

How to register

  1. You will need a CV with details of your attributes and work experience. Your CV should demonstrate your skills and abilities against the occupational area you are interested in and the appropriate classification level.
  2. You may also wish to attach a brief cover letter outlining your skills and experience in more detail and your current availability.
  3. You will be asked to select occupational areas and classification levels during the registration process.

After lodging your application, you may be contacted to attend an interview if a suitable vacancy becomes available.

Should you be contacted in relation to an employment opportunity, you may be asked to provide the details of 2 referees who can comment on your skills, abilities, depth of experience and work performance.

Eligibility 

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or hold a visa that entitles you to live and work in Australia for the term of the employment contract.
