About the Role: 

Are you a clinically experienced professional with strong knowledge of clinical products and an interest in procurement, product evaluation, quality improvement and change?

The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) Procurement and Contract Management Team is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Product Advisor to join the CAHS Clinical Procurement Team. This is a unique opportunity to apply your clinical expertise beyond traditional clinical practice and have a health service-wide impact on the products, processes and decisions that support the delivery of care.

As the Clinical Product Advisor, you will provide specialist advice on the procurement, evaluation, standardisation and implementation of clinical products across (CAHS). Working closely with clinical teams, Health Support Services (HSS), procurement professionals, suppliers and other key stakeholders, you will support informed product decisions that balance clinical needs, safety, quality, risk and cost effectiveness.

You will work across clinical and corporate environments, building relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and contributing to initiatives that support safe, high-quality and sustainable healthcare for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities for the role include:

• Provide specialist advice to clinical areas on the evaluation, selection, standardisation and procurement of clinical products, working closely with HSS Supply Chain.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with clinical, procurement and corporate stakeholders to support the safe, effective and timely management of clinical products.
• Coordinate clinical product recalls, complaints, corrections and shortages, including maintaining the CAHS Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Notice Register and supporting continuity of clinical care.
• Support the evaluation, implementation and standardisation of new clinical products and Whole of Health contracts, including change and implementation planning.
• Contribute specialist clinical advice to the CAHS Product Evaluation and Standardisation Committee (PESC) and provide advice on clinical product contract development and management.
• Identify and manage risks associated with clinical products while contributing to quality improvement, policy development and best-practice initiatives across CAHS.

About you:

We are seeking a proactive and collaborative professional who brings clinical expertise, sound judgement and strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders and priorities.

You will have substantial experience in clinical procurement and/or the management of clinical products, with demonstrated ability to support change and influence product decisions across clinical environments.

You will also bring:

• Extensive knowledge of clinical products and their application to clinical practice.
• Highly developed written, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to consult, negotiate and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex issues and develop practical solutions.
• Strong knowledge and application of quality improvement, research and best-practice principles.
• The ability to work collaboratively across clinical, procurement and corporate environments while balancing clinical needs, risk, quality and cost effectiveness.

Tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Midwifery or another relevant clinical discipline, knowledge of the Procurement Act 2020 (WA), and demonstrated leadership or management experience will be highly regarded.
