This Vacancy is for Fixed Term Part Time and Casual appointments with 0.4 FTE available to appoint. Fixed Term and Casual appointments will be made with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

What is our Clinical Nurse Specialist role?

Conducts primary mental health and risk assessments of patients in the ED requiring specialised mental health support. Collaborates with other ED clinicians to provide safe and appropriate management of such patients, collates and maintains mental health related information and resource material and contributes to staff education and skill development in mental health in ED. Provides information and support to patients and carers, and liaison with relevant others as required including patient flow/bed management.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service or the wider public service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
