We are seeking a proven, dynamic and highly motivated Clinical Nurse Manager with strong perioperative experience and proven leadership capability. About the Region:

The Great Southern region is located on the south coast of Western Australia, adjoining the Southern Ocean, where the coast extends for approximately 500 km. It is also bordered by the Southwest region on the west and extends 200 km north where it meets the Wheatbelt region. The total land area is 39,007 sq km (including offshore islands), representing approximately 1.5 per cent of the State's total area.

The historic port town of Albany, which is the State's oldest European settlement, has one of the best natural anchorages in the Southern Hemisphere and is the region's administrative centre. It is also the transport hub from where most of region's crops and livestock are shipped.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading and managing the Perioperative Services team, including Theatre, Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) and Day of Surgery Unit (DOSA).
• Providing clinical leadership and expert advice to nursing, medical and allied health professionals across surgical services.
• Coordinating safe, high-quality, patient-centred care and ensuring delivery of evidence-based clinical practice.
• Planning and managing theatre schedules in collaboration with surgeons, anaesthetists and key stakeholders to optimise service efficiency
• Managing staffing, workforce planning, budgets, equipment and resources to support safe and cost-effective service delivery.
• Leading quality improvement, accreditation, clinical governance and risk management activities across perioperative services.
• Supporting, coaching and developing a multidisciplinary workforce through performance management, education and professional development initiatives.
• Building strong collaborative relationships with clinicians, leaders and external stakeholders to drive positive patient and service outcomes.
• Monitoring and reporting on operational, financial and clinical performance to achieve strategic and organisational objectives.
• Leading investigations, audits and service improvement initiatives that enhance patient safety, staff wellbeing and consumer experience.

Suitability Criteria:

• Demonstrated advanced perioperative clinical expertise, with extensive knowledge and experience across Theatre, Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) and Day of Surgery Services (DOSA), and the ability to lead evidence-based clinical practice and quality improvement initiatives.
• Proven clinical leadership and change management capability, including experience leading multidisciplinary teams, mentoring staff, driving service improvements and successfully managing organisational and clinical change in complex healthcare environments.
• Strong resource and workforce management experience, with the ability to effectively manage staffing, budgets, equipment and operational resources to ensure safe, efficient and patient-centred service delivery.
• Highly developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to build productive relationships with patients, staff, medical practitioners, allied health professionals and external partners.
• A strong commitment to quality, safety and clinical governance, including experience leading accreditation activities, risk management processes, incident investigations, clinical audits and continuous improvement programs that deliver positive consumer outcomes.
