The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Cleaner in Charge to lead our dedicated cleaning team and play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our students, staff and visitors.

The Cleaner in Charge is responsible for inducting, training, leading, and managing cleaning staff including relief staff; monitoring and ordering stock supplies within your budget; maintenance and stocktake of cleaning equipment; undertaking cleaning of allocated internal and external areas; locking the school, including setting the security alarm system.

This is a split-shift position with scheduled hours in both the morning and afternoon.

The successful applicant will ideally have good attention to detail and will be able to work well with others to ensure a clean and safe school environment. You will ideally be organised, reliable and punctual. The successful applicant should work well both individually and as part of a team and have excellent knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe cleaning procedures, methods and practices.

  • obtain a valid Working With Children Check.  
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
