Your Role. Your Impact.
The Statewide Referral & Response Service (SRRS) are seeking Child Safety Practitioners to fill part time and full-time roles across the Service In both shift working and non shift working roles.
The attached Job Description Form (JDF) and Teams Descriptions document provide more information about the positions, with the latter describing which are shiftwork and giving an example roster. For further information please contact the panel chair Rachel Grimble, Team Leader Child Safety on (08) 9460 8581.
What is Statewide Referral and Response Service (SRRS)?
SRRS is the first point of contact for Child Protection referrals for the community and professionals in Western Australia (WA). SRRS receives and assesses all new referrals of concern for a child to the Department and respond to these referrals through various teams including Central Intake, Crisis Care, Mandatory Reporting and Family & Domestic Violence Helpline
SRRS is the largest District in the Department of Communities, and it operates 24 hours a day at a centrally located office in Perth.
At SRRS, both shift and non-shift options are available. CSPs who work shifts outside business hours receive penalty rates and additional financial incentives.
Child Safety Practitioners (CSP) at SRRS enjoy:
Extensive training, mentoring, guidance and support prior to work allocation. This is in addition to the Department of Communities mandatory training for newly recruited CSPs and is tailored to the requirements, standards, and practices within SRRS.
Unique exposure to a range of first responders to Child Protection referrals and opportunity to engage and work alongside families to strengthen their capacity to provide care and safety to their members in ways that are sustainable, builds resilience and ultimately increases social wellbeing.
SRRS is walking distance from Perth Train Station, a convenient and centrally located office with state-of-the-art amenities.
Please see the SRRS Teams Descriptions attachment for more information on each team.
