About the role

Business systems and information are at the heart of every informed decision. Behind the successful delivery of school bus services is the ability to transform complex data into meaningful insights, identify opportunities for improvement and ensure systems, processes and reporting support operational success. As a Business Systems and Information Officer, you will play a key role in connecting people, data and technology to help deliver safe, reliable and efficient transport services to students across Western Australia.

This is an exciting time to join the team, with School Bus Services currently undertaking a significant business systems replacement project. Working within a small and collaborative team, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the design, implementation and continuous improvement of business systems and processes. You will work closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to analyse business needs, develop practical solutions and support the delivery of meaningful business intelligence through reporting, dashboards and data analysis. Your ability to understand the relationship between business operations, systems and strategic objectives will help drive informed decision-making and successful project outcomes.

We are seeking a collaborative and analytical professional with experience in business analysis, reporting, business intelligence and business improvement. You will be confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels, translating complex information into clear recommendations and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. If you enjoy solving complex problems, influencing positive change and want the opportunity to make a visible contribution within a small team during a period of significant transformation, we encourage you to apply.

About You!

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Considerable experience supporting the operation, planning and management of a complex organisation through business analysis, business intelligence, data analytics, reporting, and business improvement activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex relationships between data and business operations, management, and planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders, elicit and analyse business requirements, and translate business needs into effective system and process solutions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Well-developed communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) including the ability to successfully interact, negotiate, and support team members, senior staff and other key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly developed ability to review and analyse data and to identify and report on features, anomalies, trends, and business implications.
